HIV, Empowerment, Affect Regulation, and Trauma Laboratory
Spearheaded by Dr. Bev Fredborg, Assistant Professor at the University of Winnipeg (and Clinical Psychologist registered in Ontario), we are focused on research related to improving mental health outcomes for individuals with severe psychopathology, as well as improving treatment outcomes for people living with HIV in Manitoba.
Basic Research Arm
Our laboratory is focused on understanding emotion regulation processes and how these might go awry in individuals with severe psychopathology.
Applied Research Arm
We are interested in (1) applying basic research knowledge to enhance treatment for individuals with severe psychopathology and (2) using community-based participatory action research principles to support people living with HIV in Manitoba.
